How Fonitix works for hotels and short-term rentals

Fonitix answers for your hotel, B&B or guest house around the clock: it takes the dates and the party, quotes your rate, notes late arrivals and sends every request to your front desk. It never promises a room it cannot see.

What the agent does

  • Takes stay requests with the dates, guests, room type and arrival time, and saves them for your front desk to confirm.
  • Answers guest questions about check-in, rates and policies using your own answers.
  • Marks late arrivals and urgent guest problems so the person on call sees them first.
  • Speaks as your reservations agent, in the words of your business.

What you tell Fonitix

A few questions when you set up, so the agent knows your business:

  • What room types or units do you rent out, how many guests do they sleep, and what is the rate per night?
  • What are your check-in and check-out times?
  • What is your deposit and cancellation policy?
  • What should guests do when they arrive after the front desk closes?

An example call

CallerDo you have a room for two from Friday to Sunday?
FonitixI can take a request for you. A standard double is $140 a night. Shall I note it down?
CallerYes please. We will arrive late on Friday.
FonitixNoted, with a late arrival. The front desk will confirm availability and send the deposit link.

An example of the kind of call it handles. Your agent uses your own services, prices and hours.

What you get in your dashboard

  • A calendar with your team and services
  • A work board with stages that match your trade
  • A card for every customer, with their calls and visits
  • Intake forms and documents
  • Estimates and invoices
  • Payment links and deposits
  • Reminders by text or email
  • Urgent calls marked and brought to your attention

What the agent will not do

  • Take a card number over the phone: it sends a secure payment link instead.
  • Make up prices, times or promises: it uses only what you have given it, and takes a message when it does not know.

Set up in four steps

  1. Choose hotels and short-term rentals when you sign up, so Fonitix uses the right words for your property.
  2. Check the example rooms and extras and answer a few questions about your business.
  3. Get your own phone number for the agent and make a test call.
  4. Share the number. Calls turn into reservations in your dashboard.
